FALL PROGRAM

Fall is the fun season for rowing, and Colorado Junior Crew is no exception. Fall weather at Boulder Res is beautiful, and CJC athletes enjoy getting to know each other, while working and training together. Autumn training focuses on technical development, in conjunction with improving the athlete’s strength and endurance.

WINTER PROGRAM

The Winter Program consists of work on indoor rowing machines (ergometers), weight training, and running. Winter training focuses on the individual athlete, and the strengths, or weaknesses, they bring to the team. Some athletes may emphasize strength, endurance, and, or, technique work during the winter, depending on what must be achieved to earn a boat seat with the spring racing team.

SPRING PROGRAM

Spring season is racing season, when athletes train hard to prepare for out-of-town regattas. Spring training brings together the excellent base built through the autumn and winter. Teams begin to focus on the result of all their training, through the most rewarding, yet challenging season, to achieve the best season possible.
