Colorado Junior Crew operates year-round from our home in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. We offer Fall, Winter, Spring Break, Spring and Summer rowing opportunities to athletes aged 13-18. We welcome rowers of all abilities, currently from 20 different middle and high schools. We cater to athletes with zero experience in the sport, right through to competitive athletes aiming to gain qualification spots at Youth Nationals or be recruited at the Collegiate level. Current team athletes include Youth Regional and US National Championship medalists. CJC has multiple Alumni who have continued their rowing careers post high school and are now rowing in Club, IRA and NCAA programs. CJC Alumni also includes NCAA National Champions.

So whether you're an experienced rower or you want to try the sport for the first time, you've come to the right place!

CJC and COVID-19

Effective August 13, 2022, all CJC staff and athletes must be fully vaccinated (including one booster) against COVID-19 to participate.   Proof of vaccination must be sent to CJC prior the first day of practice.  Adherence to local and CDC mandates and  guidelines is mandatory.

Policies covering daily practice and team travel are being developed and will be forwarded to athletes and families.   Adherence to local and CDC mandates and guidelines is mandatory.  As local and CDC guidelines continue to change, CJC policy can be expected to evolve as needed.

Staying Cool

How does one keep cool at barren reservoirs and river sides?  With a portable shade structure, of course!

Our very own Pete Bacus, who is working on becoming an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, designed and constructed a shade structure that attaches to the trailer.  It took more than a year's effort and 94 hours of volunteer time, but Pete was able to install the finished project this week.   You may read more about the process and view more photos in the link below the photo.   Both CJC and Boulder Community Rowing will use this shade--many thanks to Pete for this awesome service project!

Support the Rower in Your Life by Donating to CJC

CJC and our families have weathered a challenging year together, and have had a successful comeback this Fall--rowing on the Boulder Reservoir in some fantastic weather, and bringing home medals in a number of regattas.   Most importantly, we have provided the opportunity for your athletes to develop life skills that will support success now and into adulthood.

As we move forward and focus on investment in equipment, coaches, and athlete experience, equipment must be purchased and replaced; and your support will help that endeavor. No donation is too small, so please consider supporting us today!

Thank you for your consideration and generosity!
