Veronika is a former world-class discus thrower and National Team Sculler who brings 26 years of experience to Colorado Junior Crew. Her resume includes successful coaching stints at top collegiate programs (Mercyhurst, Wisconsin, Virginia, Michigan, and UMass-Lowell) as well as top ranked juniors/scholastic teams - Community Rowing Inc., and Phillips Andover Academy.
The 2021-2022 season will see Coach Vee enter her 5th season with the CJC program; her secpnd as Head Coach. Under her direction Coach Vee has successfully worked with CJC athletes to race at the world-renowned Head of the Charles regatta, San Diego Crew Classic, OKC Youth Regional qualification regatta, Pumpkin Head regatta, US Youth National Championships and most recently at the prestigious Canadian Henley. Under her guidance, CJC athletes have achieved multiple podium finishes and countless A-Final appearances.
She is grateful to be back in her home state and to help teach and inspire the next generation of aspiring rowers and coxswains.
2019 year review. Coach Platzer guided CJC Varsity athletes to personal best 2km performances at the Denver Indoor Ergo Championships, worked with CJC's silver medal winning single sculler at the Central Youth Regional championships and coached the athlete to a silver medal at the U17 Youth National Championships. Summer saw Coach Plazter take a small squad of sculling athletes to Canadian Henley to gain international racing experience. In October she oversaw the team's Women's Youth Four, Men's Youth Double and Women's Youth Quad at the Head of the Charles regatta.
