Who can register? Any CJC athlete. Athletes who have not rowed on the water with CJC before, need special permission from Coach Roman to participate in Spring Season. 

Section 1: Practice Season: April 1-30, 2023
We try to maximize our water time during April knowing that some days we will switch to land training due the the unpredictable nature of Colorado spring weather. All practices are held at the Boulder Reservoir except Thursdays when athletes will erg on their own. 

Section 2: Regionals:  May 3-5, 2024, Oklahoma City, OK (OPTIONAL & ADDITIONAL FEES)

The Regional Championships is an overnight trip and we want to take our entire squad to this regatta as  it affords our athletes a rare and amazing opportunity to race at a world class venue amongst all skill and age group levels.   Participation is optional but highly encouraged.

Going to Regionals will be an additional cost of about $950 with travel to Oklahoma City on Friday, May 3rd. We will race on May 4th and May 5th and travel back to Boulder the evening of May 7th. More travel details to come. 

Athletes that place in the top 3 at Regionals continue on to the National Championships, June 6-9th,  Sarasota, Florida. 

Section 3: Post Regionals:  May 6 - 18, 2024

This two week period is THE BEST time to row and train at the Boulder Reservoir during Spring Season.  The air and water temperatures start to warm up and the reservoir is still relatively wake free.  We spend this period mostly mixing up the lineups to continue with the skill progression but to add more "fun and levity" to the daily practices. 
 
We also utilize this week to recruit new members by allowing athletes to "bring a friend."  The recruits actually get into a rowing shell and are coached by the current squad members.
